Discovered in 1838 by a hunter from Aiguèze (local village), the underground caves of Saint Marcel d'Ardèche offer an exceptional geological archeological, speleological and touristic interest. About 40 km of galeries have been indexed thanks to different archeological groups, who are still exploring nowadays. |

The visit, which takes about one hour, permits the visitor to discover a circuit of uncommon interest valorizing the vastness of the halls, the importance and the beauty of the concretions, and also the big extent of the ìGOURSî (natural pools) unique in Europe. |

A sound and light show with lighting effects will escort the visitor all along his progression. A reproduction of a prehistoric painting which was discovered in an adjoining galery, can be admired. Free: A botanical footpath presenting the meridional flora passes near a dolmen and a menhir. |
