Jaujac is a village full of character, which truly comes alive when the markets are held on its main square. It is located in the superb Vallée du Lignon. Jaujac is located: 16 km from Aubenas, the ‘capital’ of Southern Ardèche, 50 km from the Rhône Valley, between 25 and 50 km from the wondrous sights (and sites) of the Plateau of the Ardèche, such as the Mont Gerbier de Joncs, Mont Mézenc, the Lake of Issarlès, the Gorges de l’Ardèche...

How to find us: Exit Loriol/Le Pouzin. Head for Privas, and then the Col de l’Escrinet, in direction of Aubenas. In Jaujac: opposite the Grand’Place (the main square), take the first road on the right (Rue de la Paillette). When you reach the ‘Bar des Loisirs’, follow the narrow road down on the right of the bar which crosses the Bridge ‘Pont du Chastelas’. On the left there is a road which is indicated as a dead-end. Follow this for 4 km, we are at the end of it. There is a beehive with a sign indicating ‘Gîte de France’ in front of the house.

The chestnut trees play a big part in the beauty of the landscapes of the Ardèche. There are many walking circuits on the paths which weave their way through the fields and forests and along the banks of the rivers or over the rocky hillsides of the Aden or of the Midi.
